Justice Reimagined: OEDD Joins the Movement at RYOS Youth Conference 2026
Partager
OEDD was proud to be in attendance alongside local organizations that share a common belief: that Black youth deserve access to the knowledge, networks, and systems that shape their futures.
This year's theme, "Justice Reimagined," was not just a tagline. It was a call to move from intention to action, and the program delivered on that promise.
A Powerhouse of Voices
The conference brought together youth leaders, community mentors, career professionals, and representatives from the legal and justice systems. Everyone in that room was working toward the same thing: real pathways, real connections, and real outcomes for the next generation.
Keynote: Charles M. Campbell
Family and Estate Lawyer Charles M. Campbell grounded the day with a keynote on legacy, self-advocacy, and what it looks like to put legal knowledge to work in your own life. The message was practical and powerful. Understanding the law is not reserved for those with a degree. It is a tool, and it belongs to everyone.
What the Day Offered
Attendees connected with career professionals, heard honest stories about leadership and giving back, and walked away with direct access to agencies and mentors dedicated to Black youth success in Windsor. The right resources, in the right room, at the right time.
Who It Was For
Black youth between 12 and 25 who are ready to lead and ready to be heard. And the village around them: parents, mentors, and community supporters who show up because they know it takes all of us.
OEDD's work has always been rooted in the idea that opportunity is built, not stumbled into. That means showing up in spaces like this, investing in the organizations doing the work, and staying connected to the communities we serve. RYOS 2026 was a reminder of why that matters. We will keep showing up.
